Fallout 4: How to make smokin’ hot, sexy male and female characters

I love character creation in video games. Making really, really ridiculously good looking characters is something of an obsession of mine. So here are my tips and tricks on how to make attractive characters for Fallout 4. Luckily, this game (unlike so many others *ahem* Mass Effect *ahem* Dragon Age *ahem* every other game) comes with many presets that are already pretty damn good looking, so all you really have to do is tweak and not build from scratch.

How to make a smokin’ hot male character (or if you’re lazy just download this preset)

How to make a sexy, beautiful female character (or if you’re lazy just download this preset)

Basic principles of making a beautiful character:

  1. Keep the face symmetrical
  2. Eyebrows should arch upward and not droop downward – pull “eyebrows – outer” up and out to the sides, pull “eyebrows – middle” and “eyebrows – inner” down
  3. Pull the “jowls – lower” up to create a more youthful face
  4. Make the chin a little longer than default
  5. Make the eyes a little farther apart than default
  6. For men: pull “eyelid – lower” up a little to create a sexy squint
  7. For women: make the eyes a little bigger than default

Make sure you examine your character from all sides as you’re creating, not just from the front.

Update: Want a walkthrough of all the steps? Here you go!

You can also download both of these presets here because I love you all (male version, female version). I’ll be uploading my future character presets to Nexus, so follow me on Facebook if you want to see them :)

  1. Cool, thanks to you I will have to find a plastic surgeon, hope there is one around in Fallout 4 like it was in 3… :D Could you be a bit more prompt with these guides and not just posting them after I am 40 hours in the game? XD XD XD (Kidding ofc, still <3 you girl!) :D

    BR,

    Arnie

  2. I would so put $10 into a paypal for step instructions for the male face. Even just a text doc with button presses. Eg select eyebrows and press d-pad down X times.
    Itd be much appreciated
Let me know what you think!

    • Haha, thanks! I’d be happy to do that, you don’t have to donate but thank you for offering :) I’ll do it when I get home tonight. I was going to upload a save file for both faces for people to download anyway, so I might as well just do a text tutorial too.

  3. best looking female character creation I’ve seen so far for fallout, any chance at a more detailed tutorial for console players like myself?

  4. She looks very, very nice. Your music selection is spot on, too.

I couldn’t replicate the awesomeness of your character in two hours or so of trying. I’d definitely appreciate some assistance in the matter.

I’m sure your tutorial will be great. Will you be releasing a save file of her just after the character creation?

I’m looking forward to having her in my game.

  5. Thank you so much for this and for everything else on here. You’ve definitely helped me out a lot with your mods, tutorials, recommendations, etc.

  6. I tried to fix my character via the surgeon and now she is even more horrendous than before. I was so frustrated that I forgot to reload the previous less ugly face and continued playing. If I am an Xbox player can I (and how would I) download a preset to fix my character’s ugly face? Please help me I can’t stand looking at her! I wish presets were offered at the surgeon because that would make it easier to follow the tutorial you provided. Thanks a bunch!

    • Dino,

Your question was already answered by Girl a bit above. What you need to do is press te ` (tilde) character (the one key left of the one (1) key :D) and type in SLM 14 1 followed by an Enter then press the ` key again to exit the command console… Make sure that you are sitting somewhere and your face is visible on screen before doing so. This will open the character editor (with the preset faces available).
Editing your character this way is a tedious job as you cannot zoom in enough and she will look away, turn her head all the time but it will be okay for getting a preset face.

      Regards,

      Arnie

      • I promise I’m not trying to ask redundant questions, but how do I input keyboard commands via the Xbox consolse version of Fallout 4?

      • Did I stumble across tutorial or site directed solely towards the pc gamer audience? I really don’t want to come across as an idiot. Or if someone could let me know if preset downloads can be applied to Xbox console users.

    • :( Sorry, Girl also a big Xbox 360/One player but when it comes to modding we usually think of a PC and kinda default to expecting everybody playing Fallout 4 also on PC… This is obviously not the case for everybody and I was not reading your post thoroughly enough, sorry… :(
No, there is no console access (as far as I know) on the Xbox/PS version. Later on there might be a save game editor that you could use that lets you alter the appearance variables but I have yet to see one and of course you still need to grab the save from the console, get it to a PC, do the changes and get it back, etc… In theory it should be doable to replace only the appearance part of a save file of course.

      • Thanks for answering for me, Arnie!! :D Sorry DinoManiac, unfortunately mods don’t work on consoles :(

      • Thanks for the information. Too bad! I was hoping for a promising solution. Appreciate the reply from both of you.

  7. I swear the male looks just like me……. Haircut and all lol it’s kinda trippy to see on a game model …….

  8. You are awesome for this, I was going inane trying to make decent looking characters and kept deleting them till I found this. Ill admit I cheated and downloaded them because I am clearly no as talented as you are :) amazing work on them
