Unlocking Turian Saboteur Engineer and challenge

New hazard maps available this week are Firebase White and Firebase Glacier

Tactical Cloak (Asari Infiltrator only)
– Note: the Asari Tactical Cloak damage bonus only applies to powers and melees
– Base damage bonus increased from 40% to 60%
– Evolution 2 damage bonus increased from 40% to 60%
– Evolution 6 power damage bonus increased from 25% to 40%

Quarian Defender Passive Power (Male Quarian Soldier only)
– Base weapon damage bonus increased from 2.5% to 7.5%
– Evolution 6 weapon damage bonus increased from 10% to 12.5%

Vorcha Hunter Engineer
– Starting encumbrance capacity increased from 30% to 40%

So, I’m about to go try the Turian Saboteur – it’s an interesting mix of powers: Sabotage, Sentry Turret, Homing Grenade.  Sabotage will be all but worthless to me – it rarely turns enemies against other enemies (for me at least) and it doesn’t make weapons backfire reliably.  However, I do love any turret action and the Homing Grenade is pretty sweet.  I am also liking the buffs for the Asari Infiltrator and Quarian Soldier, but it still doesn’t mean I’ll use either character.  :)

What do you think of the new character?  Let me know in comments!

  1. Not really impressed by the Saboteur. I wanted Volus Vanguard, dammit. lol
But still, Huntress is quite fun to play, it’s nice to see she got some buffs.
Plus… Finally no nerfs this week.

  2. I knew this guy would come out today. It seems like the characters I’ve wanted since the beginning are being held till the very last : volus vanguard (btw, how is he not going to be invincible?) and the Drell Infiltrator.

    • BioWare have a weird chain of release based on class/race, and I’ve been trying to identify if there’s a pattern or they’re just sorting it randomly (I’m pretty sure it’s the later). I also considered the release being in order of fan demand, but I’m not so sure about this.

Let’s take a look on the order classes were released, not counting the 4 initial that were released when Retaliation was launched (Turian Havoc/Ghost and Volus Adept/Engineer).

      1 – Adept (Krogan Shaman)
      2 – Sentinel (Asari Valkyrie)
      3 – Vanguard (Batarian Brawler)
      4 – Soldier (Geth Trooper)
      5 – Engineer (Vorcha Hunter)
      6 – Sentinel (Volus Mercenary)
      7 – Infiltrator (Asari Huntress)
      8 – Soldier (Quarian Marksman)
      9 – Engineer (Turian Saboteur)

My guess is that next week we’ll see the Batarian Slasher, since we haven’t got any Adept since Krogan Shaman; but I’m also placing some bets on the Drell Assassin. It’s sad,

I wanted the Volus Protector so badly. Like you said, he’ll be nearly invincible. Fast cooldown recharge with Biotic Orbs, damage reduction with Shield Boost and invincibility frames with Biotic Charge (and extra damage reduction from it). Pretty beastly.

      • I also thought it was based on what everyone wanted – basically saving the Volus Protector for last to ensure that people kept playing :) I also can’t wait for the Drell Assassin and Volus Protector – I already love playing Platinum with a full Volus team, it will be awesome if there are little balls of Volus zooming around too!

  3. I like having a turian engineer, its nice having a heavier character with a turret and homing grenades. I hate sabotage.

Also I have a bad feeling they will nerf the hell out of the volus protecter, which sucks because he is the character I want the most.
On another note I finally got my asari valkeryie today, she is actually not that bad but I still need to experiment with her. So far im loving her amazing cqb potential, warp is slow but I mainly use it onthe big stuff. Also loving the at-12 shotgun.
